DM1 - The Drum Machine App Reviews

I give up on this app.... It used to work flawlessly but heres another update that yet continue to have CRASH ISSUES (Specifically when trying to create a user kit - I know before it was crashing on exports but I didnt try that this time)!!! This app just doesnt seem reliable or worth the money, even though its not that expensive. You guys at Fingerlab need to go back to the drawing board and redo this app from scratch or something. Ill take Garageband over this any day! Dont waste your dollars folks you will regret it!

Still having problems with the app not opening up with my iPad 2.

Doesnt even load for iPad 2. Horrible.

...now that the update fixed the export and crash issues. The parameters/settings dont stick though once you move away from the FX and the MIX screens. Still useless to me. Fix this and Ill update my review and star rating.

On my iPad 3rd gen, I can open this app and use it. Since they changed the way the FX works, half of my older projects are rendered useless due to the fact that they are all completely distorted now. I pretty much have to work from the ground up to get them to sound similar again. My big complaint as of right now is that the compression works more like a volume knob than its specified purpose.

Used to be my go to app. I recommended it to all my students. The iPhone version still works but the iPad version still wont load, even after the latest update. I had a lot of songs on here that I and my students were using frequently. In spite of the export issues this was a five star app for me. I miss having it

This WAS a great app, but since the last update its now dysfunctional. Currently the effects settings stop working properly after you switch to a different tab module, also the solo buttons dont work on the mixer - these were important functions to me! Those are just two of the bugs Ive discovered so far, Ive heard others are having different issues as well. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS.

Since the last update, the mixer and FX controls reset every time I return to them. This makes performing live impossible now. Please fix!

FX section messed up. Seems like they fix one thing and break something else that was working. Oh well…cant recommend as it is now. With the new update AudioCopy works like its supposed to. Export to DropBox still opens DFX. Not perfect but Im OK with it I guess. I like it otherwise. I want to love DM1 however it does not export properly. I can record into AudioShare by using AudioBus but exporting just doesnt work. When I try to export to Dropbox it opens the DFX app... you get the picture. Hope they fix it soon. I dont suggest buying this until they do.

Please fix asap! I am in the middle of some serious mixing, this app is tops! But the latest update (April 14) crashes on startup. Cant get past loading screen. Ipad 2. Thanks love the app, been using for more than 2 years

It worked and then it didnt. As of now, it wont even open, just crashes on launch.

This is great as I have had it several years and I think it just takes learning like all apps, hook it up to a system and you can Hear What It Does VERY WELL! Thank You! DM1 Fan Here.

If I would have known that there were only 9 drum pads I would not have bought this app. There is only one drum pad labeled cymbal, which sounds like a ride cymbal. There is no crash cymbal at all. This presents a huge problem when trying to use this app in real world applications. Its unfortunate because the app is very well designed. How can you have a drum set without a crash cymbal? I want a refund. I would happily delete this review if I could get my money back.

This app would be great if it worked. It wont open on my iPad 2, so it was a waste of money.

Lately the app has been doing tons of crashing on my iPad 2 though the last few updates and Im not sure why, it seemed to have been fixed a bit but even still I had to open it more than once before it would work. Please fix whatever bugs there are, I really enjoy the app and actually utilize it in my music making.

Very buggy app and worst, zero support. The most recent problem is that the updated app will not open on my iPad 3 with most recent iOS. Unless the next update lets me in, Ive lost 20 beats or so that I put considerable work into. Ive really enjoyed using the app when it works.Theres just a long and discouraging history of one problem after another. Every update brings new problems. I normally wouldnt give a bad review until contacting the developer, but there is now no way to contact them, seriously. Theyve also closed their user forum recently, which was the only way to communicate with them.

Please make it easier to put in an exact tempo by typing it in. Also make it easier/possible to change tempos in the middle of a song. The app is really fantastic except for these two things. Great job.
