DM1 - The Drum Machine App Reviews

It is really a nice tool and easy to use..however there is a major problem with some odd time signatures i.e 11/8 , 13/8 The iphone version of DM1 can manage them , but the ipad version supports predefined time Signatures (why ???) where unfortunately 11/8 , 13/8 or 17/8 are not included.

Really enjoying this app. The recent update provided noticable improvements. I am using this in conjunction with an MPC sequencer and an Alesis iO Dock. Keep the midi-related updates coming and my next review will be a 5 star.

Sounds and looks beautiful. Very versatile, authentic sounding, musically useful. Also it is a lot of fun and gives you interesting rhythmic ideas that only a drum machine style interface can give you. One of the best drum apps out there. Sounds great along side my real vintage synths and my virtual vintage synths. Nice job!

sooo intuitive! had it figured out in minutes. a powerful program. it wold be nice though to be able to use effects on individual sounds as well as the entire track.

Maybe the best drum machine on ipad, but make something for sync it with computer DAW. PLEASE !!!

Wow. This drum machine is so cool. Its got a great interface and looks vintage, but then you have so much depth and control as well. Its really just like one of James Bonds gadgets. Unassuming but stylish initially, until its secret complexity is revealed. I need to figure out if there is a way to record with another app. Well done.

Love this one, lots of fun and easy to learn and use. Three things Id like to see. One and two could related - Id like to be able to put in a count-in bar at the beginning of the song. Related, Id like to be able to set loop points and number of loops, so that, for example, pattern 1 would play once (taking care of the count-in), patterns 2, 3 and 4 would play 4 times, pattern 5 once, patterns 6, 7, 8 4 times, pattern 9 once and then loop back to pattern 2. MIDI output for triggering other sounds would be nice

I enjoy this app very much, but it lacks a simple function. This app NEEDS a save button! I have lost hours of work simply because it does not save progress properly. Please fix in an update!

Wow, I finally managed to find a free quality drum machine which includes classics such as the 808, 909, 606 and many, many, many, many other kits, both electronic music inclined and acoustically organic. This app is very well-done as well as eye candy. It feels professional as a whole, with its many little sound tweaking options. You can compose full "songs" using only the app but I prefer to use it to compose beat and rhythm and then export those as .wav files using DropBox, from my iPad to my Macbook. That way, I can constantly import new beat experiments that I made on the fly, wherever I was located, into my DAWs library of loops. This gives a new kind of freedom to composers out there. A massive thank you to the developers!

I dont think theres a better drum machine. Excellent samples, great effects and controls. Enjoying it a lot.
